Tapasa

The development of mind, body, and spirit is deeply interconnected. Physical literacy in early childhood not only builds physical strength but also plays a critical role in brain development.

When tamaiti (children) engage in play—whether through siva (dance), games, or exploring their environment—they activate brain functions that enhance coordination, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.

Tapasa – Navigating Futures through the Minoi Programme supports this holistic development by weaving Samoan culture and gagana-Samoa (Samoan language) into movement and play.

Through culturally meaningful activities, tamaiti not only build essential physical literacy skills but also strengthen their cultural identity, deepening their connection to their heritage. By learning and moving in their own language, tamaiti grow with confidence, resilience, and pride, preparing them for success in all aspects of life, grounded in both strength and cultural purpose.
